From a young age, born and raised in the city of Virginia Beach, Virginia, basketball was more than just a game to me; it was my passion, my purpose, my everything. High school became the stage where I showcased my skills, where every dribble, every shot, felt like a step closer to my dreams. I poured my heart and soul into the sport, earning accolades and admiration from teammates. But fate had other plans, plans that would forever alter the course of my journey. A traumatic skull fracture during my junior year of high school changed my mindset and allowed me to sit back and think about life after basketball and in the depths of despair, I found resilience. Rather than allowing adversity to define me, I chose to redefine myself. Returning my senior year, I went through ups and downs and was able to lead my team to the regional finals. Coming up short was disappointing, but not quitting while dealing with trauma was what made me who I am today. Instead of “Why me?”, it became a “I am glad it was me”. I learned to love the journey and focus on getting 1% better every day. My goal is to instill that mindset into all my athletes on and off the court.
With determination, I focused my love for the game on a new effort: Coaching. It was a natural transition, a way to stay connected to the sport that had shaped so much of my identity. Driven by a desire to make a difference, I made a bold decision: to open a school that would not only provide local athletes with another shot at pursuing their dreams but also extend a helping hand to individuals across the globe. This school wouldn’t just be about athletics; it would be about education, development, empowerment, and opportunity. Here, students of all backgrounds and abilities would have access to top-notch athletic training and comprehensive academic programs, all under one roof. With every class provided, we aimed to reduce the financial burden of transferring to a university, giving students a head start on their education and their future.
I graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and a licensed Gold USA Basketball Coach. Currently, I am a Camp Coach for the Golden State Warriors, a basketball trainer in Virginia Beach as well as Paul Webb Basketball and an instructor for PGC Basketball (Playmaker College & Point Guard College) where a plethora of players attended that you may know. Just a few names such as, Tyrese Haliburton, Jordan Clarkson, Marcus Smart, Tyrese Maxey and NBA Champion Jamal Murray.
Join me on this adventure—a journey of resilience, empowerment, and endless possibilities. Together, we’ll reach new heights, defy the odds, and inspire the world.
